<idAbs>Digital Mapping, Inc. (DMI) was contracted to provide Digital Aerial Ortho Photography for the CIRGIS Region of Ventura/ Santa Barbara Counties.The Channel Islands Regional GIS Collaborative received 12", 6", 3" resolution digital orthophotos. The project encompassed an area of approximately 4,790 square miles. The Digital Mapping Camera ( DMC I ) system was used, with airborne GPS and Inertial Measurement unit for the digital image acquisition. The 6" orthophoto tile covers an area of 6000' by 4000' which is aquired the urban/rural area for a total of 1,102 square miles. The tiles were supplied in TIF format with associated TFW.</idAbs>
<idPurp>This digital imagery can serve a variety of purposes, from general planning to field reference for spatial analysis to a tool for revision of vector maps. it can also serve as a reference layer for the GIS.</idPurp>

<stepDesc>Aerial photography for the 6" orthophotography was flown at 4,800 feet above mean terrain using the 120mm focal length of the Digital Mapping Camera by Z/I Imaging.The natural color photography was flown in the east/ west direction, fully controlled by Airborne Global Positioning System(GPS) and Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU) was acquired and processed to a positive image over approximately 1,102 square miles.
